The Melbourne aged care home at the centre of the latest COVID outbreak, Arcare Maidstone, has admitted some residents were not vaccinated because of an email problem.
Arcare’s Victorian State Operations Manager Victoria Kylie Thomas told Raf Epstein that prior to the outbreak, vaccine consent forms emailed to around 10 of the 76 residents were “not actioned”.
She told Drive it wouldn’t happen again.
“That has changed across the Arcare business nationally and we now have a very tight system in place to track all consent forms.”
On Monday the facility declared outbreak was “over” following advice from the Western Public Health Unit.
Ms Thomas said the site will remain on “active surveillance” for the next two weeks.
