There’s a big shortage of critical workers, made worse by the fact that half a million temporary migrants have left the country since the pandemic began last year.

It’s becoming harder to fill the jobs locally, with figures showing there’s been a significant fall in the number of people studying at TAFE to become health and welfare workers, as well as aged and disability carers.
