A young man has died in the first road fatality in South Australia over the Easter long weekend.
The 24-year-old from Mawson Lakes was found dead inside a blue Holden ute after it crashed into a tree at Hillier, near Gawler, on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Angle Vale Road, near the intersection of Dalkeith and Andrews Roads, just before 7.45am.
The man, who was the driver and only occupant of the car was found dead inside the ute.
Police are investigating the crash.
So far this year, 33 lives have been lost on SA roads, compared to 31 at the same time last year.
The crash follows several other fatal crashes around the country during the Easter break.
In Victoria, a man died after the ute he was driving crashed into a tree.
And in Queensland, a young woman died after she fell from the back of a moving ute.
