Food is one of the top priorities for residents and family members when choosing an aged care home, but on average, aged care homes in Australia spend around $6 a day on food per resident.

Advocates are calling for better training for chefs in aged care homes, more nutritious meals, culturally appropriate food and a better overall dining experience for residents.
