Explaining the background to the candid family snap, Jessika said: “This is my mother years before her addiction.
“This photo hurts me because it shows my mother in such a beautiful light and what we lost through addiction”.
Jessika spoke of her mother during the period this photo was taken.
“My mother was good, she’d make us playdough or go camping, just all the fun things,” she said.

Jessika added that it was only eight years later that the family “lost her to addiction”.
“She’s come good in years, but it’s so hard to see what addiction does do to people,” the reality star added.
“And now I just know, everything I do in life makes me a better person.”
Jessika – who said she hasn’t had a connection with her mother since 2000 – went on to share the personal growth she’s undergone through this experience.
She said, “I never walk down the street and get a nasty person saying something to me and I’m like, ‘oh what a horrible person’. I always think, ‘what’s going on in your life that’s made you like that today?’
“So, it has shaped me because I had to grow up a lot faster than other kids. I had to be a mum and look after a mum.”
