Finance Minister Grant Robertson will deliver the New Zealand government’s budget in two months.
The budget – to be delivered on May 20 – will be Mr Robertson’s fourth, and the first of Jacinda Ardern’s second term.
While announcing the date on Wednesday, the Finance Minister said the overarching objectives would be in line with the government’s already-announced work program.
That includes “keeping New Zealand safe from COVID-19, accelerating the recovery and rebuild and addressing key issues like climate change, housing affordability and child poverty”.
On Tuesday, the government announced a multi-billion dollar spend on infrastructure housing from the 2021 budget.
