In the footage, the courier can be seen holding the package up to the camera, showing Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s name on the label.
He calls out to a co-worker that he’s “got a shipment for Gladys”.
“You know what you do with this?” he says, before hurling it across the room.
He then turns the camera on himself and pretends to spit into his own mask.
The footage circulated on social media over the weekend, eventually capturing the attention of his employer.
CouriersPlease in a statement confirmed it had been alerted to the footage.
“The content of the video in no way reflects the values or code of conduct, at CouriersPlease,” it read.
“The freight handler in the video was dismissed immediately as part of our investigation and we are also speaking with our franchisees and employees to ensure everyone adheres to our code of conduct.”
