Two people have died after falling from an aircraft to the ground in a skydiving incident in the NSW southern tablelands.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Goulburn following reports an aircraft carrying two skydivers was in difficulty on Sunday afternoon.

“Two parachutists fell from the aircraft and landed near the runway of the airport,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The pair were found unresponsive and were unable to be revived.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The circumstances of the incident will be investigated by police, with the assistance of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
