Several new venues in Sydney have been put on alert hours after it was revealed a man tested positive to COVID.

The man, aged in his 50s, lives in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and was potentially infectious since Friday before he was tested for the virus on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, his test returned a positive result.

The new venues on alert include:

The Stadium Club, Moore Park, Monday May 3 from 11.30am to 12.30pm.

Azure Cafe, Moore Park, Monday May 3 from 12.30pm to 1pm.

The Royal Sydney Golfing Club, Rose Bay, Monday May 3 from 5.30pm to 9pm.

Rug Cleaning Repairs Rug Hand Wash, Brookvale, Tuesday May 4 from 12.30pm to 1pm.

Chemist Warehouse, Double Bay, Tuesday May 4 from 3.45pm to 4pm.

Woolworths Double Bay, Tuesday May 4 from 4.05pm to 4.15pm.

Anyone who has attended the specified venues is asked to immediately get tested and self-isolate until NSW Health provides further advice.

The advice also applies to people who have been partially or fully vaccinated.

Sewage fragment alert

NSW Health has also been notified that fragments of the virus that causes COVID have been detected in the Marrickville Sewage Network.

This catchment includes about 42,000 people and takes sewage from the following suburbs: Dulwich Hill, Marrickville, Summer Hill, Lewisham, Ashfield, Haberfield, Petersham, Lilyfield and Leichhardt.

NSW Health is asking everyone in these areas to be especially vigilant in monitoring for symptoms, and if they appear get tested and isolate immediately until a negative result is received.
